Academic

We’re proud of our academic record.  Each year all our leavers pass on to their chosen senior school, and a high number of boys gain scholarships.  Our greatest asset is our experienced teachers, who expect and encourage the best from every boy, and provide all the support that growing boys need.

In Years 1 – 4, boys are taught mostly by their class teacher supported by a teaching assistant.  From Year 5, all lessons are taught by a subject specialist, whose enthusiasm motivates the boys to achieve their highest.  All boys are taught using the modern specialist facilities we are able to provide, including a dedicated ICT suite and state-of-the-art Science and Design & Technology facilities.

We monitor individual progress very carefully through our fortnightly system based on effort grades; parents also receive regular reports.  We are particularly keen to blend healthy competition with the need to encourage effort, so that each boy achieves his full potential.  Educational support is available and used for boys of all abilities.
