Design & Technology

Design and Technology are taught to all boys for a double period each week. A wide range of topics, including work with wood, acrylic, electricity, electronics, mechanisms, structures and computer control are taught via a designated project each term for each class.

Every project is intended to teach a few specific skills in using tools and manipulating materials and a boy’s repertoire of experience is thus built up in a well-planned order. The design, which is the first stage of every project, is intended to be a simple working document which communicates both initial ideas and plans and the on-going changes and developments in the boy’s thinking as his project progresses to completion.
