The 7th Hemel Hempstead (Lockers Park) Scout group consists of a Scout troop and a Cub pack. Unusually for Scouting this is a “closed” group, only available to the pupils of the school.

The Scouts meet on a Monday evening, 6.30pm-8.00pm and the Cub pack meets on a Thursday from 6.15pm-7.30pm, both under the leadership of Jan Maddern, better known as “Skip”.

Over the course of the year both the Cub pack and Scout troop do a huge range of activities and trips, where possible basing the activities outdoors. The Cubs section is available for years 4 & 5, and the Scout troop is for the older boys in Years 6, 7 & 8.

One other unusual thing about the group is that both Cubs and Scouts must board on their respective evenings. This is a great opportunity for the boys to experience boarding with their friends and is a fantastic introduction to boarding, even for those boys who have no intention to go on to a boarding school.

Both Cubs and Scouts are actively involved in wider activities within Hemel Hempstead District Scouts, including overseas camps (for Scouts), night hikes etc, and  the boys also participate in a number of Hertfordshire County Scouts activities.
