I’m really enjoying this U9 rugby season and not just because the A team is on a winning streak! What I’m really appreciating is seeing a team gel as a team, playing for each other and doing their job correctly. Today we took on a strong St Edmund’s team in trying conditions. The pitch had a steep slope and was almost water logged. Noah, our Captain, chose to go downhill first, but we didn’t really gain enough from this advantage. At the halfway mark we were two tries up, but then we had to play uphill. Thankfully our tackling was up to the mark – it really needed to be! The final score Lockers 20, St Edmund’s 5 and both teams were absolutely covered in mud! Luckily the boys were then able to sit down to the best match tea they have been served this year.
Life is always busy at Lockers Park and this is a snapshot of everything that has been going on.
