Prize Giving

Speaking to my colleagues and to many parents after Prize Giving the general consensus was that this was the best one for many a year. Each of the speakers – Headmaster Chris Wilson, Governor Chris Tolman and Year 8 parent (presenting the prizes) Matthew Dixon spoke passionately about Lockers. If the boys had been listening carefully they would have had some very sound advice. The occasion was also sad because we said goodbye to several long serving members of Staff. Mr Stephens got a standing ovation – he should have done as he has been at Lockers for 50 years! Gavin Taylor had an unenviable task – taking over from Mr Stephens saying goodbye to each Year 8 leaver. There was no way he could have matched Mr Stephens, so he made use of technology and did a presentation. I think he did a brilliant job – but I’ll let you judge:
