Magic Sticks? Actually it was a long piece of hazel that we cut fresh from the school grounds. Magic? Of course – because it led to some fantastic teamwork. The children had to work together, to communicate effectively, to support one another and to make sure no one was left out. Was it easy? No, not really. At this time of the year the children are very tired (a pair of muddy hands was a real problem for one child) BUT the teams managed to overcome any problems and get their team mates fully on board. The task was to move the stick as a team, but they were only allowed to use straight fingers of one hand and the stick had to be level. I’m pleased to announce our judge, the visiting buzzard, reported no cheating and the task was completed by both teams, one doing slightly better than the other.
Life is always busy at Lockers Park and this is a snapshot of everything that has been going on.
