This year Lockers Park is supporting Mary’s Meals, an organisation that provides food at school for underprivileged children in less developed countries. They also have started a back pack appeal, where people can donate a back pack with the basic necessities of school life for a young school child. Our appeal is going pretty well with the back packs building up. A special mention must go to Rocco’s family – they seem to be bring in back packs almost on a daily basis!
Our Year 3s went down to the Pre-Prep building today to tell them all about the appeal.
If you would like some more information about Mary’s Meals do have a look at their website: https://www.marysmeals.org.uk/
For those who would like to become involved:
What to pack
Anyone can take part in The Backpack Project – it’s a fun activity for schools, clubs and families to get involved in.
Take a look at the list below so you know what items to pack.
- Clothing for children aged between 4-12 years is suitable.
- Second-hand items are fine if they are in good condition.
- Please label your backpack to indicate whether it is suitable for a boy or girl, and suggest what age.
- Please don’t include any liquids (including liquid soap) and don’t be tempted to add any other gifts such as toys or sweets, as these can cause problems with Customs during delivery.
