Four and a half years ago Lockers lost an inspirational teacher. Scott had been at Lockers for 15 years as Head of Sport. He took his sport very seriously and expected everyone on his team to do the same – he had very high standards. Scott was a really big part of the school, whether it was in the classroom or taking the annual ski trip. At his memorial service St John’s Church was full – in fact people were standing. Many of the pupils he had taught and influenced over his career at Lockers came back to give their respects. Many felt they wanted to do something else and in 2012 the first Scott Gowing Memorial match was played – football was his first love. Today many Old Boys returned to play in his memory once more. The score was 7-3 but the result was unimportant. What was important was that Scott’s memory lives on – he is still sorely missed by us at Lockers and by the many people he came into contact with.
Life is always busy at Lockers Park and this is a snapshot of everything that has been going on.
