I’m not quite sure what it is with scientists – when they have an audience they love to make things explode. Last week, as part of Science week, Mr Iqbal went down to the Pre Prep building & of course took with him a range of things that go “BANG!”. It was with some trepidation that the first victim (I mean pupil) placed a lit taper under an inflated balloon. Right on cue there was a spectacular bang and bright flash. The other thing scientists like to do is to send things up into the air. Using a foot pump the pupils used air pressure to send a rocket across the hall. There were extra points for accuracy.
It is activities like these that inspire young minds. I wonder which one of these pupils will end up as the next Tim Peake? Many thanks to Mr Iqbal for another inspiring science demonstration.
