The first full day back at school also saw the 7th Hemel Hempstead (Lockers Park) Cubs have their first meeting of the term. The summer term is my favourite one of the whole year as, weather permitting, all of the meetings are planned to be outside. Today it was an old favourite – fire lighting. The Cubs were impressive with half the Sixes managing to light their fire with one match – the rest only needed two. Once the fires were well established out came the marshmallows to be toasted over them. As a health and safety precaution, the toasted marshmallows can only be eaten if they are squashed between chocolate digestive biscuits. I didn’t hear one Cub complaining about health and safety!
Life is always busy at Lockers Park and this is a snapshot of everything that has been going on.
