It’s harvest time at Lockers – at least the first harvest this year. Hopefully there will be more! Today it was the turn of the broad beans to be picked. They’ve grown wonderfully with all the rain we’ve had – in fact the allotment looks fantastic. The kitchen has a pot full and the rest have been sampled by the pupils with others being taken home. I find it fascinating to watch boys pod the beans and pop them into their mouths, eating them with great relish and obvious enjoyment. Put a portion of cooked frozen beans on their plate and you get a different reaction! Well done Mr Iqbal and the Eco Committee – I’m looking forward to my share at lunch tomorrow!
Life is always busy at Lockers Park and this is a snapshot of everything that has been going on.
