Macmillan is a cause dear to our hearts at Lockers and each year we have at least two coffee mornings – one for the Staff and one of the parents & pupils. Today it was the Staff turn. The Staff coffee morning becomes a bit competitive – The Great British Bake Off has nothing on the scheming and skullduggery that goes on in the week prior to the event. Secret family recipes are dusted off and cakes are lovingly made. No one knows exactly what will be produced until the actual day and our judging panel is every bit as critical as Paul and Mary. Very well done to Mrs Miller who became Star Baker with her gorgeous carrot cake. Also to be congratulated are the runners up: Mr M Phillips for his polenta and pistachio cake and Mr Gilden for his baked cheesecake. We raised almost £200. Well done everyone!
We also took the opportunity to say goodbye to Tasha who leaves our catering department after many years. She is heading up country – good look for the future.
Many thanks to Mrs Roberts for organising the event and to all those staff who baked cakes or donated raffle prizes.
