With autumn fast approaching our thoughts turned to where some of the animals that live in our grounds might go for winter. Some take a holiday and fly to Africa. Some struggle through the colder weather and some hibernate. We thought specifically about hedgehog went hunting for their potential homes. The first distraction was a puffball that Ayaan found. We talked about how the spores are distributed. Moving further into our woodland the children discovered a couple of hidden clearings that they explored. James then found some natural clay which several of the children then turned into small animals. Before we knew it, our time was up and it was back to the classroom.
