C3R visit St Albans Abbey

Yesterday afternoon our Year 3 boys went to St Albans Abbey. They came back absolutely buzzing. They discovered a little bit about the history of the Abbey – how it was made with materials from Roman Verulamium and how it got it’s name. I was told how St Alban had swapped cloaks with a Christian priest and ended up being the first Christian martyr in Britain. This visit was part of the Religious Studies curriculum. Over the years they will also visit other places of worship for various other Faiths.
