Something new this term is the Pre-Prep Science Club, open to our Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children, that is being run after school by Mrs Ashburner in the Junior Science Lab. This is a fantastic opportunity for some of our younger pupils to become actively involved in science experiments. Today the children were exploring light and colour – looking through coloured Perspex to see how things look very different. They then did an experiment using M&Ms, placing them around the side of a plate and then adding hot water to the plate. The colours that bled into the water made some fantastic patterns which were then experimented with. When I went in the children were absolutely buzzing with excitement. I wonder what they’ll do next week?
While all of this was happening another group were cooking in Pre-Prep. At half term the two groups will swap.
