Jeans for Genes Day

You could hardly recognise the pupils at Lockers this morning because so many of them were not wearing their school uniform. Normally this would be frowned on but today it was a rather special charity day where they could wear jeans as a fund raiser. The reason – Jeans for Genes Day. There are between 4,000 and 6,000 diagnosed genetic disorders. It is estimated that one in 25 children is affected by a genetic disorder and therefore 30,000 babies and children are newly diagnosed in the UK each year.  You can find out more about this amazing charity via this link: Jeans for Genes.

The monies raised on Jeans for Genes Day provide grants for day-to-day support, equipment, nursing and patient support services, and events which bring together affected children and their families. Hopefully we will have a raised a significant amount of money which will be going to this worthy cause.
