It has been a most unusual week at Lockers, due to the snowfall last weekend. While we remained open, a large number of pupils didn’t make it into school on Monday. More managed the journey on Tuesday, when we were scheduled to hold our Carol Service at St John’s Church, Boxmoor. The decision, quite rightly, was made that due to the very icy road and pavement conditions, that it was too dangerous for this service to go ahead. This is unheard of at Lockers – we even managed to do the Carol Service the day Buncefield blew up! Instead of totally abandoning the service we had a close look at our timetable, did a bit of rejigging and managed to fit it in as the very last thing of the term. Of course, as it was in the Chapel not all the parents were able to attend. Those who’s son was doing a reading or a singing solo were invited in – the Chapel was full to capacity. It was a lovely service and a fantastic end to what has been a very busy term.
