The Doodson Sponsored Walk was this year raising funds for two local good causes – Hope for Children and The Collett School. It had to be one of the muddiest walks that we’ve done, but the majority of walkers managed to get back before the rain started. Our aim is to raise £5,000+ for these two very worthwhile causes. Last week our Prefects were incredibly impressed when they went to the weekly assembly at The Collett School. They had never experienced anything quite like it. One of them, Karan, was so moved that he has donated £100 of his own money (earnt by doing various jobs) to the cause, instead of buying a new pair of trainers that he had his eye on. Our Prefects were also selling cakes half way around the walk, raising £340. It is small things like these that are going to make a real difference to Hope for Children, a Hemel Hempstead based charity and to The Collett School. If everyone makes the same sort of effort as Karan and the Prefects we really should reach our target.
