As part of our Leavers Programme our Year 8s’ had a Poetry Day with poet Tony Chan. Tony used to teach at Stowe school but in January 2015 decided to take a break and embarked on a 1400 mile solo trek across Britain. He took 78 days and wrote 78 sonnets. The boys found this very interesting and particularly liked his honesty about his poems – the ones he liked and disliked. It transpires that if rhymes are forced the poem doesn’t flow well. While at Stowe Tony taught several ex-Lockers Park pupils and was interested to see our school. He made a big impression on our boys – thank you very much for taking the time to visit us Tony.
Life is always busy at Lockers Park and this is a snapshot of everything that has been going on.
