School Swimming Gala

When visitors come to Lockers Park many do not realise we have a pool – we do, a beautiful outdoor pool that is wonderful in hot weather. Like many sports at the school we like competition and we have a Set and Individual Swimming event – run on the same day. The Set Competition sees the Set Leaders choosing their teams. If they are good at their job they will go and talk to the pupils in their Set and find out who their strong swimmers are. If they are less dedicated this may not happen. There were some incredibly close races and a number of records were broken. Special mention to Freddie who got a new record in the U11 Set butterfly and to Dylan, George and Daniel who all got new records in the Individual Medley race. Congratulations to Kitchener, the overall winners. In the individual races there were some incredibly tight finishes. For many the Drummond Cup is the highlight of the Gala – a relay race between boys, parents and Staff. For the second year running the Staff won this – by the narrowest of margins.
