It is Maths Week at Lockers Park and many of our maths lessons have been turned into problem solving tasks. Our Year 4s have been trying to find out who was the murderer at St George Castle Hotel. Working mainly with a partner, they had to read the clues and then work out the answer. It was great to hear the buzz of conversation and hard work as they all set about the challenge. It was interesting that some of the most numerate pupils were not necessarily the best detectives – problem solving requires other skills as well! Well done Detectives Bailey and Sam who finally brought the murderer to justice. Detectives Marcel and Aleks were also on the ball when they apprehended the murderer at the theatre. There have been lots of murders in Maths Week!
